What started out as snake tongues turned into fish tails in honour of Jonah, a character featured in Judaism, Christianity and Islam as a symbol of repentance and salvation. The fish swallows Jonah, and it is the fish which is highlighted in this piece as an allegory for modes of new self-awareness (axis mundi, dreams, mediation) and the process of rebirth.
